Regular Help

HorseWorld Event Ambassador

We're looking for a passionate volunteer Event Ambassador with great communication skills to assist our events team with manning our stands at external shows.

Upcoming events we would like an Ambassador to help at are:

Bristol Harbour Festival, 19th - 21st July 2019

Gatcombe Festival of British Eventing, 2nd - 4th August 2019

Mid-Somerset Show, Sunday 18th August

Frome Show, Saturday 14th August

Your Horse Live, 8th - 10th November 2019

What's involved?

We are looking for someone that is able to commit to at least one whole day during the duration of the show (it could be a 1 day, 2 day or 3+ day event) and who is confident talking to the public about the work of HorseWorld. Events Ambassadors may also be expected to help with setting up and dismantling the HorseWorld stand in situ. Cash handling experience is desirable but not essential.

You must have your own vehicle and be able to travel to shows in and around the South West (fuel expenses will be reimbursed).

Those in the role will need a basic level of fitness as it will often include standing for long periods of time, lifting boxes of merchandise, as well as moving gazebos and tables etc (seating and water will be available at all times).

Our Events Ambassadors will be provided with a HorseWorld gilet and lanyard to wear whilst helping on the stand.

A member of staff will be present on the stand at every event; Ambassadors will never be expected to man the stand alone for long periods of time (apart from covering lunch/ and loo breaks etc).

Because of the show schedule, your help will often be required on weekends and bank holidays. On average HorseWorld visit 8 - 10 shows a year spread out over the spring and summer months.

Equine knowledge is not essential.

Why get involved?

Becoming an Event Ambassador for HorseWorld gives you the opportunity to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills, allows you to gain valuable work experience to add onto your CV and helps you develop new skills. Furthermore, Ambassadors get the chance to work as part of a friendly team, to make new friends and meet a diverse group of people in interesting locations.

You'll get free entry and parking at some of the regions top country and horsey shows such as Badminton and Gatcombe, and have plenty of breaks to explore and watch the entertainment whilst helping on the stand.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students and those looking to work in the events industry.

How to get involved?
